在伦敦奥运会即将召开之际，让我们回顾一下门球的始祖---槌球的历史，它曾被列为法国1900奥运会正式比赛项目。但愿经过世人努力，门球在不久的将来能成为奥运会比赛项目！ Croquet at the 1900 Summer Olympics   1）1900年法国夏季奥运会槌球比赛报道 At the 1900 Summer Olympics, three croquet events were contested. Seven men and three women participated. The 1900 Olympic croquet tournament 1900年夏季奥运会上，设有三项槌球赛事。共有7为男生和三位女生参加了竞赛。 The doubles competition was scheduled first, though it's unclear whether the French pair which won actually had any competition.虽然还不清楚战绩卓著的法国槌球选手是否能首战告捷，赛会还是首先安排了槌球的双打比赛。 The one-ball singles was played the next week, followed by two-ball singles the week after. France, with 9 of the 10 competitors, won all the medals. Belgium was the only other nation to send a croquet player, though he did not finish the first round of his competition. Four players, including two of the three women and the only Belgian player, did not finish the round. 本届比赛项目有田径、游泳、举重、射击、自行车、古典式摔跤、体操、击剑和网球9个大项。原计划中有赛艇项目，后未举行。取消的原因有两种不同的说法，一说是气候不佳海面风大，无法进行；另一说法是无人报名，不得不改变计划。

本届比赛项目有很大变化，取消了上届的举重和摔跤，新增加了射箭、马术、水球、赛艇、帆船、足球、橄榄球、高尔夫球等。因第二届奥运会没有留下正式的总结，有的项目如板球、棒球、马球、甚至上面提到的射箭，究竟是正式比赛项目还是表演项目，迄今仍有争议，莫衷一是。

所以槌球是否是第二届奥运会的项目有待考证。
