耄耋老者贾志民

2003年闹“非典”那一年，我时任二康老干部科长。因为得知位于涿州清凉寺办事处杨楼村有一个SOS儿童村，我去献过爱心做过公益，还建议二康年轻的医护人员组成医疗小分队去搞过义诊。后来在签名簿上得知了刘鹏举，后来又通过刘鹏举结识了北京残联副主席贾志民，再后来将创建该儿童村的张洪志老哥连同几个残疾人儿童送到了北京昌平。

一来二去的，就和贾老熟悉了。有一次，贾老一行来涿州，在我办公室谈事，到了饭点了，我还安排楼下的食堂弄几个清谈一点的菜送到楼上，我们一起用工作餐。

贾老是残疾人，他在职和退休后从事残联工作很长时间。他出生在延安，父亲是毛主席、周总理身边的机要部门人员。（北京残疾人联合会原副主席）贾志民是延安时期生长在马背上的摇篮中的孩子,因为驮孩子的骡马受飞机轰炸的惊吓,幼年的贾志民被摔落马下并不幸落下终身腿部残疾。在延安最艰苦的日子里，他在摇篮中成长。解放后贾老的头衔很多，计有：中国公益事业联合会副会长、中国爱心工程委员会副会长、精协家工委副主任、北京市残疾人联合会原副主席等。

贾老一生清廉，从事残疾人工作多年，投身扶危救困和公益事业，在社会有良好的口碑。他的年龄，已超过了孔圣人，也即将超过孟圣人，在他八十大寿的时候，和他熟悉的同志们都祝福他健康长寿，他的坚定的革命意志和精神感染他身边的每一个人。

我和贾老结识多年，从他身上学到了很多东西。印象深的有三件事：

一是他有一次来涿州，恰逢涿州花灯节，观灯期间，时任涿州残联主席的的孟祥谱同志得知贾老等到达涿州，作为地主也作为晚辈得有所表示哦。那一次我参加了，谦逊的贾老侃侃而谈，对国家残疾人政策和一些举措如数家珍，我注意到：他见了作残联工作的基层同志就像见到了娘家人，那个神态，对我的印象很深。

二是涿州的SOS儿童村，是他联系了北京北部的一个地方，将涿州处境艰难的残疾儿童们接到了北京，我后来去看过，残疾儿童们生活的很好。

三是我和刘鹏举到过他的家，红二代的革命家庭彰显的是清贫朴素，家中没有什么高档摆设，令人过目不忘的是：他保存有一大摞的各种聘书和获奖证书。

耄耋老者贾志民，一位值得让人尊敬的革命者，一位永远年轻的老人。

    In the year 2003, during the SARS outbreak, I was serving as the Deputy Director of the Elderly Cadres Department in Erkang. Upon learning about the SOS Children's Village in Yanglou Village, Qingliangsi, located in Zhuozhou, I extended my love and support by engaging in public welfare activities. I also suggested that young medical staff from Erkang form a medical team to provide free medical consultations. It was through this initiative that I came to know Liu Pengju, and subsequently, through him, I had the honor of meeting Jia Zhimin, the Vice Chairman of the Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation. Later, I arranged for Zhang Hongzhi, the founder of the children's village, along with several disabled children, to be sent to Changping, Beijing.

Through these interactions, I became acquainted with Mr. Jia. On one occasion, when Mr. Jia and his team visited Zhuozhou, we had a discussion in my office. When it was time for lunch, I arranged for some special dishes from the canteen downstairs to be sent up, and we enjoyed a meal together.

Mr. Jia is a person with disabilities who has been involved in the work of the Disabled Persons' Federation for a long time, both during his career and after retirement. He was born in Yan'an, and his father was a key figure in the departments of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou. Mr. Jia Zhimin, the former Vice Chairman of the Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation, grew up in the cradle of a horse during the Yan'an period. Due to the fright of the mule carrying him being bombed by a plane, he unfortunately suffered a lifelong disability to his legs. He grew up in the most difficult days of Yan'an. After the liberation, Mr. Jia held many titles, including Vice President of the China Charity Federation, Vice President of the China Loving Care Project Committee, Deputy Director of the Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation, and others.

Mr. Jia has lived a clean and honest life, dedicating many years to the work of disabled persons, and has made significant contributions to the relief of the needy and public welfare. He has a good reputation in society. Despite his age, which has surpassed that of Confucius and is soon to surpass that of Mencius, on his 80th birthday, all his comrades wished him good health and a long life. His unwavering revolutionary spirit and determination have inspired everyone around him.

I have known Mr. Jia for many years and have learned a great deal from him. There are three memorable events that stand out:

First, during one of his visits to Zhuozhou, coinciding with the Lantern Festival, Comrade Meng Xiangpu, the Chairman of the Zhuozhou Disabled Persons' Federation at the time, learned of Mr. Jia's arrival and felt it was necessary to show his respect as a local elder. I attended the event and observed Mr. Jia's modest and knowledgeable demeanor when discussing national policies and measures for the disabled. His attitude towards grassroots comrades working in the disabled persons' federation left a deep impression on me.

Second, the SOS Children's Village in Zhuozhou, which he helped establish by connecting with a location in northern Beijing, has provided a good life for the disabled children in Zhuozhou.

Third, when Liu Pengju and I visited his home, the revolutionary family of the second generation displayed a simple and modest lifestyle. There were no high-end furnishings in the house, but what left a lasting impression was the large stack of appointment letters and award certificates he had preserved.

Jia Zhimin, the venerable elder, is a revolutionary worthy of respect, a forever young old man.
