In the past two years, there has been a significant acceleration in the internationalization process of the RMB, and its global payment share has been continuously reaching new highs. According to data published by the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), in September 2023, the RMB's global payment share reached 3.71%, marking a 0.24% increase compared to the previous period, once again setting a new record.
In the ranking of global payment currencies, the RMB ranks fifth, with the following shares:

2. Euro - 23.60%
3. British Pound - 7.32%
4. Japanese Yen - 4.2%

Special Drawing Rights (SDR), also known as "Paper Gold," was first issued in 1969 and is an asset made up of a basket of reserve currencies, currently consisting of the US Dollar, Euro, Renminbi, Japanese Yen, and British Pound. On November 30, 2015, the International Monetary Fund formally announced the inclusion of the Renminbi in the SDR starting from October 1, 2016. The value of the SDR is determined by the current exchange rates of the five currencies, with the following weightings: US Dollar 41.73%, Euro 30.93%, Renminbi 10.92%, Japanese Yen 8.33%, and British Pound 8.09%.
It is worth noting that while maintaining the existing composition of the SDR basket, there have been some changes in the weightings:
1. The US Dollar weighting has been increased from 41.73% to 43.38%
2. The Euro weighting has been decreased from 30.93% to 29.31%
3. The Renminbi weighting has been increased from 10.92% to 12.28%
4. The Japanese Yen weighting has been decreased from 8.33% to 7.59%
5. The British Pound weighting has been decreased from 8.09% to 7.44%
